So, here I am, eating an amazing treat of Birthday Cake fudge my friend gave me for ...yes... my birthday, trying to decide wo to write about next.
It was a hand to forehead moment when the light goes on......De-Liz-Cious Treats!

If you follow along on my blog you will clearly see I am no stranger to Liz’s treats. Being a lover of all things local it is sometimes (ok always) hard to pick a favourite thing when someone asks me.
I had asked Liz a series of questions and coming across one of the answers is without a doubt one of the things I always answer as one of my favourites. She says they are confident when they are told they have the BEST cupcakes in town!
I can’t argue.
Truth be told I’m not really a cupcake/cake eater but when I head to the Brantford Farmer’s Market and come up on that display case, something always comes home!
Just 2 short weeks ago I had purchased 3 cake pops. Vanilla, chocolate and pink lemonade. I had good intentions for taking them along to a dinner with 3 children present.
They never made it.

They were “forgotten” in my fridge.
I have also had the pleasure of having an amazingly stunning chocolate drip cake at one of my foodie events. The epic towering creation appeared at the door in Liz’s hands with layers upon layers of chocolate cake topped with chocolate drip icing, donuts, chocolate flowers and of course the famous Almond Toffee. A sight to be seen yet alone eat!
Being a home baker for as long as she can remember quickly turned into a thriving delectable business when the opportunity arose. Liz and her husband Frank set to work creating a new kitchen. Liz is a self taught cake decorator but don’t let that fool you. She says her favourite thing to make are Wedding cakes. The process beginning with the Bride and Groom choosing her to make the cake for one of the most important days of their lives to seeing her creations in pictures is an honour to her.
Although the wedding cakes may be incredible, following along with social media pages will usually bring up a fun cake as well. Most recently to catch my eye was the hamburger. Cheese, lettuce, ketchup, mustard, relish, tomato and onion. All there. All on a sesame seed bun.
Cake is by far not the only treat available. You will often find the stand at the market filled with
-scones
-fudge
-salted caramel sauce
-chocolate covered popcorn and pretzels

-that famous Almond Toffee
and surprise treats for each holiday!
So as much as I am asked the same question, I also asked Liz, “What is your favourite thing to eat?”
The Almond Toffee (have I mentioned that once or twice already??) even after all these years and all the treats she’s created.
The best time to eat it is apparently a bad time for sharing! Right after it’s cooked at 300`F it gets poured onto a sheet to cool. At this stage it’s still warm and buttery.
Locally as mentioned, you can find them at The Brantford Farmer’s Market and select treats at (another one of my favourites) Little Brown Cow. If you follow along on social media pages you can stay up to date on any upcoming vendor shows and easily find links to their website.
If we are what we eat........I am De-Liz-Cious!!
