Just a Note of Thanks

So this Night Out was a bit different.

I had invited members of some local community groups to come and chat about what their group does for Brantford. The 2 that had jumped on board without question were Avery, who runs the Shop Brantford site, and Juliana from The Brantford Rotary Club. Also present for the evening, which coincidently was our entertainment, was Shaun Mulrain a Rotarian along with Juliana. A last minute addition to the line up was half of another local (to Paris) blog, Mark, from Jane & Jury and The Paris Lectures.

The point was simple. Get up and let a room full of people know what your group does in and around the community in simple hopes to spread awareness of what they love and why they do it.

I always try to add a prize element to the night while serving 2 purposes.....

1: send the guests home with an awesome prize

2: raise ticket sales money for the evening's charity of choice.

This time, since 2 members were involved in the night, I chose The Brantford Rotary Club. Juliana received a little over $200 to take back to the group....not bad considering the small table of prizes!

I was really trying to focus on the food aspect of the evening so I didn't round up as many prizes as in the past BUT....what I did have donated was AMAZING!

I would like to take a minute and thank each one individually and I would appreciate it if you took a minute and followed pages and websites to check these amazing businesses out.
